Trapped and tempted, this battle of wills rages all night long…
Kady Dresco and Colton Brooks click on a level that defies logic. There are only two problems. One, he’s her older brother’s irritating best friend, and two, they're bidding on the same military security services contract.
When the competition heats up, Colton is torn between wanting to strangle Kady (and her annoying brilliance) and kissing her into submission. Which is a bad idea for a million reasons, because Kady’s submission is exactly what he craves. Being trapped in a tiny motel room with the object of his darkest fantasies will require every ounce of his restraint.
Kady doesn’t want his restraint, but Colton knows better. She deserves love, marriage, and a white picket fence—three things Colton can’t give her. But her proximity and the memory of their steamy near-miss three years ago slowly destroys his resolve. And he’s not sure how much longer he can keep his hands off…or his heart closed.
Dare to Resist by NYT Best Selling Author Laura Kaye is a new novella from Entangled Publishing. This book is a prequel of sorts, setting up the Wedding Dare Series. What’s unique about this series is that each book is centered around the same event, yet each is written by a different author!
Laura Kaye brings us Kady and Colton (EDITOR’S NOTE: Colton is totally a hot guy name. Every character named Colton is HAWT. It’s a fact. Google that shit.). Colton is Kady’s brother’s best friend, and she’s been crushing on him since she was a kid. You know where this is going, right?!?!?! Right???
I love that Kady is smart, strong, and determined. She gives as good as she gets when it comes to her professional rivalry with Colton, and I love that she doesn’t back down. Colton is a great male lead. A little bit alpha, a touch of badass, with brains to boot, but you know he’s got a bit of a squishy center, too!
I always like a friends-to-lovers storyline, and Laura Kaye does not disappoint with this one. Dare to Resist may be a short book, but it is FULL of snark, steam, and even a little sweetness.
“Tell me you want me so deep I might never find my way back out again.”
When I mention steam, I mean my Kindle fogged up, man! It may have taken these two some time to finally get together, but when they do, LOOK OUT. You’ll want a cool drink with you while you read this one!
Dare to Resist was a quick, fun read that has really made me excited to read the rest of this series!!
