It wasn’t easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. And love is worth everything.
That pretty much sums it up right there! I read Undeniable after a friend raved about it. To be honest, I was not into the whole biker thing. But this book’s reputation, as gritty, raw, and even hard to read in parts preceded itself. As a Certified Literary Masochist (it’s a thing!!!!), I knew that I had to check out Undeniable.
24 hours later, I was reduced to little more than a wet spot on my bed. Deuce and Eva’s story is ROUGH! And HOT! And I LOVED IT! Even though they meet when Eva is only 5 (and Deuce is damn near old enough to be her father), their connection is forged in steel. Of course, it is innocent at first, (it’s not THAT kind of book, people!), but over the years, they come to realize that their love (and LUST) is Undeniable. (See what I did there?)
Like I said before, their story is ROUGH. They break up and make up, marry other people (one of whom is a CRAZY BASTARD), they love each other, they hate each other, they make each other MISERABLE. But they’re always drawn back together. Their life together is anything but easy, yet they can’t stay away from each other.
Madeline Sheehan isn’t writing hearts & flowers for the Harlequin crowd. She’s writing bad ass guys and chicks who don’t take their shit. My favorite thing about her writing?? How she makes the raunchiest shit from a hard-core Prez of a motorcycle club sound like fuckin’ Shakespeare. For example…
I’m gettin’ old babe. Got grown ass kids and gray fuckin’ hair. Spent too much time married to a bitch I couldn’t stand, too much time beatin’ myself up for wishin’ I was balls deep in a bitch eighteen years younger than me. Add that shit together and that equals me being fuckin’ miserable for a long fuckin’ time. So yeah, I can’t do this anymore. Can’t fuckin’ live without you. Want you on my bike and in my bed. Want my kids inside you. Want you by my side babe for as long as I got left – Deuce West
Tell me you didn’t just swoon your ASS off right there!!! You can’t, can you?!?!? Romeo ain’t got SHIT on Deuce, I can tell you that right now!
Undeniable is not your typical romance novel. It’s dark, it’s twisted, and it’s fucking glorious. I couldn’t start another book for two days after I read it, that’s how much it affected me. (And that RARELY happens, believe me) I’m anxiously awaiting Unbeautifully and Unattainable and getting some more of the Hell’s Horsemen in my life!
